Recovering from a Lifetime of Diets

Are you recovering from a lifetime of diets?

It’s a sad truth we’ve been “marketed to”. Marketed to about our body, size and shape, what we look like and who we look like; we’ve been coached since childhood about our looks, size height weight and how we are just not acceptable.

The Diet Industry is in the billions and going strong because we believed the marketing campaigns we bought into.

The truth is every time we’ve starved and manipulated our shape with these drastic steps we’ve ended up with issues. More issues than we understood…and it’s way past diet issues.

We actually started “messing” with our intelligent body systems and we make have tricked them for a short time, however, once the body goes through any significant change over a rapid period of time, it’s going to start to push back.

Push back? Right – no more weight loss for you – no matter what you do. In fact now you have stomach bloating and elimination issues.

Because I lost weight? Because you tricked your body into losing weight too rapidly and starved essential nutrients – the body is a smart system.

What can I do now?

We can start here, recovery might be as fast as one week or take a few months. Patience, you are working with a smart system here.

To Start:

Take stalk of what you have been doing with food over the past months. Where are you with your eating plan? Do you have one? Or are you avoiding food and subjecting your body to binging and late night eating?

What’s really going on? Time to write it all down so we can work with it and make the necessary adjustments to help your body restore the normal balance.

WRITE IT DOWN:

  • The time you eat and what you eat and portion size
  • We can assume you will follow portion sizes,
  • You now know three cups of spinach is too much – 2 would fill your two hands cupped
  • Eat each meal or snack for 20 minutes and then STOP – if you haven’t finished, don’t rush, just put it away for your next meal
  • Chew between mouthfuls,
  • Calm and slow, put utensils down
  • Do not wash food down with liquid

Morning:
  • Time up,
  • What time you first consumed something (recommending this is the lemon juice fresh squeezed first)
  • Break fast – what did you have?
  • Mid-Morning - Snack what did you have?
  • Lunch – what did you have?
  • Mid-Afternoon Snack – What did you have?
  • Evening meal, - what did you have?

Finished eating for the day at what time?

And just start with where you are…

NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO OR DO NOT DO, complete this. This is not about being perfect; this is about what you are doing – right now.

There is no PERFECT – there is just doing.

NOTE THE RESISTANCE – write what you feel, go through the drama, beat yourself up, threaten me… it’s all ok. Just do this

ALL OK…we’re going to get through this

And there is no NOT DOING THIS…

Deal with your frustration impatience, anger, rage, I don’t care, just do it.

“But I have, my family, and a wedding to go to, and then another party “ - all distractions from doing this.
Because you know what you are doing around food

We’ll get through this.

We’ll add bowel function and body function later, once we have first level of recovery down

All good. Lets do it.
