Mindfulness Meditation and Neurofeedback in Washington, DC may be integrated, and both mindfulness meditation and neurofeedback may progress through multiple stages.

Stages of Mindfulness Meditation
During the first stage of mindfulness meditation, individuals may practice 'Eyes-Open' mindfulness meditation, wherein one simply places their attention upon a single object and sits quietly for 5 - 20-min+, etc.  First, the mind may appear to generate large quantities of thoughts, sensations, emotions, and general turbulence.  Next, the mind may begin to settle as executive attention is consistently returned to a single object of awareness.  Finally, habituation to the visual field may occur, and the visual field may begin to grow dark, simulating an eyes-closed state.

Stages of Brainwave Changes (Monitored by Neurofeedback in DC)
These stages may be observed during Washington, DC neurofeedback sessions, wherein individuals may observe their Beta brainwaves begin to slow (Phase I), and Alpha waves become prominent (Phase II).  Finally, once the mind begins to habituate to the content of the visual field, the darkening of the visual field may correlate with increased Alpha waves and the emergence of strong Theta brainwaves.  This may be monitored with neurofeedback systems in Washington, DC.

Final Stages
The final stages of this meditation practice (Phase IV) may be observed by Washington, DC neurofeedback systems:  During this stage the visual field no longer habituates and darkens. During this stage the brain perceives all stimuli as totally fresh, new, and original - Some may refer to this as perceiving reality more clearly, accurately, and consistently.

The Washington, DC neurofeedback systems that are utilized to monitor changes in brainwave activity may be implemented during any stage of the mindfulness meditation practice in order to supplement the traditional training with sophisticated brainwave training.  This may enhance neuroplasticity and the efficacy of each practice - They may become synergistically related.

Mindfulness and Neurofeedback in Washington, DC consists of developing the capacity to first cultivate gentle present moment awareness without the assistance of a neurofeedback system.  This is achieved through the following steps:

Mindfulness in Washington, DC, Part A:
1.  Sit in an upright position (Relaxed and Alert).
2.  Place attention upon a single point (Select an object).
3.  Sustain awareness of that single point.

This is the basic practice of mindfulness in Washington, DC, but this must also incorporate several additional steps.

Mindfulness in Washington, DC Part B:
1.  Once thoughts arise into awareness, acknowledge them (Do not resist or suppress thoughts.  Do not push them away).
2.  Bring attention back to the single point (Object of awareness).
3.  Sustain awareness of that single point.

These are basic mindfulness instructions for Washington, DC residents, but this is only the first component.

Neurofeedback & Mindfulness in Washington, DC
Neurofeedback may serve to supplement mindfulness practice and enhance the acquisition of mindfulness related skills.  Neurofeedback in Washington, DC is designed to attach non-invasive electrodes to the surface of the scalp, monitor brainwave activity, and present information about the brain back to the user.  A computer program compares the individual's brainwave activity with a database of hundreds of other previously studied brains and selects targets to which the individual must train.  For example, studying highly adept mindfulness meditation practitioners, neurofeedback and brain researchers have determined which brainwave states are associated with advanced stages of mindfulness meditation in Washington, DC and beyond.  Therefore, the neurofeedback system will present visual and auditory signals when the user's brainwaves are 'approaching the target brainwave state'.  This enhances the degree to which the mindfulness practitioner develops their skills.  Through providing rapid and consistent neuro-feedback to the user regarding their brainwave states, individuals may rapidly acquire critical mindfulness meditation skills in Washington, DC.

The first thing that you will experience during your Washington, DC Neurofeedback session is a brief review of how the brain works and it's capacity to adapt to change.  Next, your neurofeedback trainer will place a Electroencephalography (EEG) cap onto your head and begin reviewing your brainwaves with you.  Next, you will be provided with the opportunity to experiment with changing your brainwaves, state-by-state.  First, we will begin with the brainwave patterns that appear to require the most attention, which could range from Delta to Theta, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma.  Once you have demonstrated the basic capacity to self-regulate your brainwave patterns through the Washington, DC neurofeedback system, you will begin the neurofeedback training session with your eyes open.

Your Washington, DC neurofeedback trainer will provide you with the opportunity to listen to auditory feedback and observe visual feedback as you enhance brainwave absolute amplitude (absolute power), relative amplitude (power relative to other brainwaves), coherence (synchronization of brain regions), and asymmetry (the de-synchronization of some brain regions, which should not be synchronized).  Everybody will learn to modulate their brainwave activity during the first 15-min of the training session.  Next, you will be provided with a brief break to rest your brain and allow the Washington, DC neurofeedback training to integrate into your brain.  This is very similar to exercising any muscle.  Intervals of brief and intensive exercise must be alternated with periods of rest and recovery in order to prepare for the next 'set' of exercises.

Your Washington, DC neurofeedback training will therefore provide you with the opportunity to train your brainwaves intensively, rest, and repeat the training process.  This is a highly effective neurofeedback methodology, which incorporates proprietary training protocols.

Therefore, you cannot get this particular form of neurofeedback training anywhere else in Washington, DC, because our training methodology is confidential and proprietary.  Moreover, our hourly rates for neurofeedback training are also lower, because we incorporate bulk training into the program.

The Benefits of Neurofeedback in Washington, DC

Firstly, if you have any interest in neurofeedback, you need to take a look at our free MP3 designed to 'tune' your brainwaves.  To get it, click here.

Neurofeedback may confer many benefits, which include:

  • Increased Executive Attention.
  • Increased Coherent Focus.
  • Increased Energy.
  • Increased Awareness.
  • Increased Engagement.
  • Increased Balance.

The reason that Washington, DC neurofeedback may enhance Executive Attention is simple - The practice of neurofeedback is principally concerned with placing one's attention upon a single stimulus (Auditory or visual) for a sustained period of time.  This naturally enhances executive attention, because the task-positive network in the brain is stimulated by sustained attention placed upon an object of awareness.

The reason that neurofeedback in Washington, DC may enhance coherent focus is because the neurofeedback protocols are designed to train for a balanced and coherent focus that is distributed across multiple nerve networks in the brain.  Synchronizing the left and right hemisphere of the brain while training executive attention therefore enhances 'Coherent Focus', which is represented by an evenly distributed attention accross visual, auditory, and psychosomatic space.

Washington, DC Neurofeedback may also increase one's sense of energy, because these neurofeedback training protocols are designed to promote brain efficiency.  Therefore, reducing inefficient brainwave patterns that consume glucose and oxygen (energy for the brain) may liberate these reserves to perform more important work.  The subsequent increase in energy that one may feel could therefore be linked with increased efficiency of network signal transmission rather than a raw increase in energy molecules (i.e. the objective that supplements strive to achieve).

Neurofeedback in Washington, DC may also increase self-awareness, because the practice naturally requires extending one's awareness into one's interior state of being.  Learning to regulate brainwave activity is a highly nuanced and sensitive skill, which requires the development of a new 'sense' of perception - The sense of interior state.  Most individuals are familiar with a simple range of states:  Painful, Neutral, and Pleasurable.  These may be subdivided into Painful:  Anxious, Depressed, or Aggressive, Neutral (Centered), and Pleasurable:  Inspiration, Love, Compassion, Fulfillment, Openness, Awareness, etc.  These vast range of states are therefore available for more nuanced training through neurofeedback, because the changing positive brain states may be navigated more consistently and more effectively than without computer-guided interior state signaling (mirroring of internal state through computer feedback).

Washington, DC Neurofeedback may also enhance one's sense of engagement, because the brain must be engaged with the neurofeedback training protocols in order to recieve a reward stimulus.  Therefore, neurofeedback training is principally concerned with training the very functions that are correlated with engagement - As measured by brainwave activity.  The computer naturally discerns which states are 'dis-engaged' and which states are 'engaged', and the user may train those states.

Neurofeedback in Washington, DC may also enhance one's sense of balance, because the neurofeedback training protocols actually train the brain to become more synchronized across the left and right hemispheres as well as across multiple regions of cortex.  Through training the brain to become synchronized, one may observe a sense of increased 'balance'.  Although, this could also be achieved through other natural means such as learning to balance one's body through physical exercises.

Neurofeedback must not be regarded as a singular and final solution to all of one's problems, but simply one additional powerful tool for self-regulation of psychological and physiological states.

Washington, DC Neurofeedback represents an important and cutting-edge practice in the field of applied neuroscience.  Although biofeedback was once regarded as nothing more than a novelty used to study the control of heart-rate and skin temperature, the field has advanced significantly with the advent of the 20th century.

The practice of Washington, DC Neurofeedback involves the application of surface-level electrodes on the scalp of individuals who are interested learning how to observe and train their brainwave patterns.  Through monitoring their own brainwave patterns on a computer screen, Washington, DC residents may develop the skills required in order to self-regulate their nervous systems.

Many Washington, DC Neurofeedback clients chose to participate in this form of neuro-training, because they were interested in enhancing their brain's performance.  Through enhancing the power (amplitude) of Alpha brainwave patterns across specific regions of the brain, one may train the same brain states that have been observed in highly adept Zen practitioners and Zen Masters.  Neurofeedback in Washington, DC is not a substitute for years of training in this tradition, but this may accelerate the acquisition of the self-awareness and self-regulation skills that are required in order to develop a strong practice.

Meanwhile, others chose to look for Washington, DC Neurofeedback services, because they believed this would assist them with relaxing and learning to work through challenging interior and exterior life events.  Psychotherapists may utilize Neurofeedback in order to serve their Washington, DC clients through evidence-based interventions.  Rather than playing with the guess-work of EMDR or Talk-Therapy, clients and psychotherapists may leverage the power of Neurofeedback to enhance self-awareness and self-regulation skills.

Neurofeedback is a system and practice that is designed to optimize brainwave patterns and neuroplasticity through monitoring brainwaves and feeding that information back to the user through increasing the brightness of an image or the volume of an auditory stimulus as particular brainwaves rise in amplitude and reducing the intensity of those stimuli as other brainwaves decrease in amplitude.

The variety of neurofeedback training protocols may vary in Washington, DC, but the principal question for this article is focused upon which supplements are best to augment neurofeedback training.

First, we must review the supplements that are beneficial:

Water
Krill oil
Fish oil

Water is clearly important, because the brain that is well hydrated is a brain that responds well to sustained training in nearly any skill. Neurofeedback may be a challenging process, which requires the individual to engage in sustained executive attention.  Dehydration may broadly impact all body systems and reduce the efficiency of blood filtration, lymphatic circulation, cognitive function, and attention to tasks.  First and foremost, a client must be hydrated so that their body is capable of clearing toxins from the body and brain while also
ensuring that individuals are not focused upon disruptive sensations such as thirst.

Krill oil and Fish oil are critical for the brain, because these oils comprise the myelin sheath of the neuron's axon, which transmits action potentials.  Neurofeedback in Washington, DC trains the brain to develop new
neural pathways and transmit signals through new frequency sets. Krill oil and fish oil coats the brain's neurons with valuable fatty acids, which ensure that nerve signal transmission occurs at maximum efficiency.  Meanwhile, these supplements are critical, because they do not alter brain states significantly when compared with other chemicals such as caffeine, SSRIs, opioids, lithium, marijuana, and other psychoactive chemicals.
Picture
Next, we must review the chemicals that are not advised:

Caffeine
SSRIs
Opioids
Lithium
Marijuana
Other psychoactive chemicals.

The reason that psychoactive chemicals are not advised in conjunction with neurofeedback is that neurofeedback in Washington, DC is designed to shift and adjust brainwave patterns, but utilizing these chemicals during training may interfere with brain training.  The reason these chemicals interfere with neurofeedback is that they produce their own unique brainwave patterns and shift how the brain operates, away from it's organic state.  Therefore, individuals may not successfully train their core brain functions during neurofeedback, because the brain is already being shifted away from it's natural disposition.

Caffeine is one example of a chemical that increases beta brainwaves and decreases alpha and theta brainwaves.  Neurofeedback training that occurs while caffeine is present within the body may be less effective, because the neurofeedback system will be unable to determine which brainwaves are naturally abnormal vs. chemically induced.  Therefore, training while caffeine is present may interfere with reducing beta and increasing alpha when that protocol is required.

SSRIs and Lithium are less problematic and may be helpful for certain conditions, because SSRIs and Lithium may assist the client with blunting some of the more intense psychological states that could interfere with their ability to sit quietly and follow instructions rather than ruminating on intensely painful thoughts and feelings.
Conversely, the presence of SSRIs and Lithium may also prevent an accurate reading of baseline brainwave activity for neurofeedback training, because the original underlying brain states are not detectable and therefore less subject to precision neurofeedback training.

Opioids and marijuana may also interfere with neurofeedback training, because these chemicals strongly alter perceptions and the capacity to act upon information.  Opiods may inhibit the individual's capacity to detect fine sensations such as the subtle pain associated with dysregulted brainwave states.  Meanwhile, marijuana may interfere with neurofeedback training, because THC inhibits long-term potentiation, which is represents the core memory formation process.  This, in turn, may inhibit skill acquisition, which is the primary objective of
neurofeedback training.  Therefore, opioids and marijuana must be cleared from the client's system prior to engaging in neurofeedback training in Washington, DC.

This is a review of BrainCore Therapy neurofeedback – We have no financial stake in this company.

First and foremost, BrainCore Therapy's strategies are nothing new, so providing you with a review of the company should be fairly simple and straightforward.  To begin our review of BrainCore Therapy, I will first explain the nature of their company's work:  That is to provide neurofeedback services to adults and children with a variety of psychological dysfunctions or for those interested in tuning up their brain through neurofeedback.  The practice of neurofeedback has been well established for 40+ years, and thousands of clinicians from around the world provide neurofeedback as a component of their practice.

Therefore, a BrainCore Therapy review would be more of a review of the field of neurofeedback as a whole.  If you are reading about BrainCore Therapy reviews on this website for the first time, or if you are considering BrainCore Therapy to provide neurofeedback services to friends, family, or yourself . . . Rest assured that their methodologies have been time-tested through thousands of other private during the past 40+ years.

For example, Dr. James Hardt of the Biocybernaut Institute was one of the first individuals to study neurofeedback with Dr. Joe Kamiya at the University of Chicago in the 1960s.  During these early neurofeedback studies, Dr. Kamiya would attach electrodes to the scalps of graduate students and instruct them to increase or decrease their Alpha brainwave patterns.  This was the first instance of neurofeedback being utilized, long before BrainCore Therapy and their many reviews were published.

The original neurofeedback research was originally conducted with a single electrode attached to the surface of the top of the scalp.  Since that time, multiple companies have emerged to produce neurofeedback equipment, and these include Brain Master neurofeedback, Thought Technologies neurofeedback, Vilistus Neurofeedback, IBVA neurofeedback, the Mind Mirror, and many more.
Picture
BrainCore Therapy's neurofeedback may be provided to individuals who would like to enhance their cognitive performance, executive attention, and emotional regulation, among others.  The basic premise of BrainCore Therapy's neurofeedback systems is that the human brain is a highly complex system of coordinated nerve cells, which communicate through transmitting electrical signals from one region of the brain to another.

Consequently, these electrical signals may be measured through Electroencephalography (EEG). This is achieved through placing electrodes on the scalp of individuals with high performing, normal, or abnormal brain function.  The range of high performance brains, to normal brains, and abnormal brains may therefore be measured through EEG, and this data may be reviewed.  Variations in brainwave activity across multiple regions of the brain may be detected across multiple regions of the scalp with multiple surface electrodes.  Once a computer's neurofeedback program has processed and interpreted the individual's brainwave activity, one may subsequently feed that information into a multimedia player to modulate the media's behavior.

A review of BrainCore Therapy's protocols should reveal a relatively consistent application of well established neurofeedback protocols. For example, a state of increased alertness may be associated with increased fast brainwaves (Beta brainwaves), and a state of increased relaxation may be associated with increased medium-speed brainwaves (Alpha/Theta brainwaves).  Through voluntarily learning to become more alert and more relaxed, one may detect changes in the Beta brainwaves and Alpha brainwaves.

For example, BrainCore Therapy's neurofeedback software may next be programed to either increase the brightness of an image as Beta waves increase or decrease the brightness of an image when Beta brainwaves decrease (Or other variations).  This is the principle of neurofeedback – That self-regulation of interior states of mind are correlated with changes in electrical activity in the brain, and through making these small changes in electrical activity more obvious, through neurofeedback, one may learn to more effectively self-regulate one's brainwave patterns.

This is the fundamental principle of neurofeedback, which serves as the foundation of Brain Core Therapy's practice.

Upon reviewing BrainCore Therapy's neurofeedback methodologies - They may be applied for individuals with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Traumatic Brain Injury, and many others as determined by a medical professional.

Reviewing BrainCore Therapy Neurofeedback's FDA Status

To review BrainCore Therapy's controversies we must first begin through explaining that neurofeedback is not a very controversial subject in and of itself.  Although there are some who question the legitimacy of utilizing neurofeedback as a medical treatment for psychological dysfunction due to the need for more evidence - The research available through the National Institutes of Health database provide sufficient initial data to merit further study.

The FDA has not reviewed BrainCore Therapy's neurofeedback methodologies in Washington, DC, so BrainCore Therapy is not permitted to claim that their neurofeedback systems are capable of diagnosing, treating, or preventing disease.  However, the lack of FDA clearance to make these claims does not preclude the possibility that the systems are indeed capable of doing so.  The process of FDA review for BrainCore Therapy's neurofeedback systems would require several million dollars to approve the treatment of each individual disease state.  Therefore, neurofeedback for depression, neurofeedback for ADHD, and neurofeedback for anxiety or any other related psychological disease state would require separate submissions to the FDA.

Therefore, BrainCore Therapy's neurofeedback methodologies may only be marketed as "part of a healthy lifestyle" or as a supplemental component of a Medical Doctor's treatment regime.  Medical Doctors have discretion over how to prescribe off-label treatments such as BrainCore Therapy's neurofeedback systems, but the company itself is not permitted to advertise that their neurofeedback programs serve as treatments.

Betsy DeVos Controversy
Betsy DeVos invited controversy to BrainCore Neurofeedback, so including reference to her involvement in this review of BrainCore Therapy is naturally an important element (She is a Washington, DC Politician).  Betsy DeVos is a controversial political figure and billionaire who currently serves as the head of the Department of Education.  Her involvement with BrainCore Therapy neurofeedback was somewhat limited in that she was simply an investor.  Therefore, any controversy that could be brought to BrainCore Therapy's neurofeedback practice is probably not legitimate.  The company has accepted capital investments to develop it's neurofeedback programs from many private investors, so Betsy DeVos's involvement does not merit further review with regard to BrainCore Therapy's work.

Multiple Brainwave States

BrainCore Therapy reviews multiple brainwave patterns during it's neurofeedback training program, and these include Beta, SMR, Alpha, Theta, and Delta.  Beta brainwaves are typically associated with a waking state - Alertness, problem-solving, active cognition, and energy.  Beta brainwaves tend to be most prominent during waking states, and they tend to be suppressed during sleeping states.  BrainCore Therapy's neurofeedback may train individuals to increase their Beta brainwaves if they would like to enhance their sense of alertness, energy, executive attention, and coherent problem solving skills.  BrainCore Therapy's neurofeedback may train individuals to reduce their Beta brainwaves in the event that they are over-aroused such as in cases of mania, insomnia, or anxiety.

Meanwhile, SMR is a form of low-beta, which is also referred to as the "sensory motor rhythm", and this brainwave state may be enhanced for the same reasons for for individuals who would like to enhance their fine motor coordination skills.  SMR neurofeedback has been applied for individuals who practice golf in order to enhance their golf game.

BrainCore Therapy's brain reviews may also apply Alpha neurofeedback, which is designed to enhance an individuals sense of rest and relaxation in conjunction with alertness.  As discussed during previous sections of this review of BrainCore Therapy, Alpha brainwaves may be enhanced so as to train in meditation states and enhance quality of sleep.

BrainCore Therapy's Theta neurofeedback training may also be applied in order to deepen states of meditation and relaxation for those who would like to explore their inner world and further enhance their sleep capabilities.  Delta is an even slower brainwave state, which is typically not trained through neurofeedback, because Delta brainwaves tend to resemble "artifact", or "muscle tension" in the jaw, face, and neck.  However, EEGInfo.com has reported success with the "Othmer Method", which claims to have successfully filtered this artifact our of the EEG reading so as to enable neurofeeback training at Delta and sub-delta levels.

Conclusion
BrainCore Therapy's review of brainwave states and neurofeedback training should be regarded as a fairly conventional and straightforward process for modulating brainwave activity and psychological states.  Therefore, we see no reason to render anything but a positive review.

Neurofeedback in DC:  For Couples Therapy?

9/13/2017

Picture
Neurofeedback may be effective for heterosexual couples therapy in Washington, DC, because neurofeedback may be utilized (1) to train the brainwave patterns of each individual and (2) to train the brainwave patterns of the couple, together.

Neurofeedback in Washington, DC achieves this objective through first focusing upon neurofeedback training for the male client, because males tend to be more open to following instructions and implementing clear, concise, and achievable objectives.  Neurofeedback allows individuals to increase the amplitude of their Alpha brainwaves, which are critical for promoting open and clear communication.  Next, the client will complete neurofeedback training, which is designed to enhance their cross-cortical coherence.  That is:  First, the client will learn to increase the amplitude of their Alpha brainwaves, and next, the client will learn to enhance the amplitude across the left and right hemispheres of their brain through neurofeedback "coherence" training.  Through increasing the cross-hemispherical synchronization of their Alpha waves, the male may begin to utilize each hemisphere of their brain simultaneously.  Typically, males become more lateralized - That is . . . Males tend to naturally operate from either the Left or the Right Hemisphere, one brain region at a time.  Their brain function tends to be compartmentalized.  Therefore, neurofeedback training that enhances cross-hemispherical synchronization may enhance their capacity for brainwave synchronization.

Next, the female may be provided with neurofeedback training so that she may have a glimpse into the new world that her partner has begun to explore - The interior world of neurofeedback brain state training.  She will also learn how to enhance the amplitude of her Alpha brainwaves first, and she will next learn how to synchronize her brainwaves across each hemisphere.  Although women tend to utilize both hemispheres of their brains simultaneously more so than males, each individual must complete the same training process.

Finally, once each individual has achieved their neurofeedback objectives through completing several trainings in self-regulation, they may come together for a group neurofeedback training in Washington, DC.  The method simply involves attaching 2 electrodes to the partners -1 to the male, and 1 to the female.

Here, the male and female will learn to synchronize their brainwaves with each other through neurofeedback in Washington, DC.

This is a core component of neurofeedback as integrated with couples therapy.
